I chose Catelyn's chapter starting on page 129. In this chapter we encounter the library bursting into flames a little after the wolves start to howl and the dogs start to bark. While Robb goes out to see if he could help stop the fire, a man comes into the sickroom where Bran and Catelyn are located and tries to kill Bran. As the man stands in front of Bran he keeps telling Catelyn that she was not supposed to be there, Catelyn notices the dagger that he carries with him and fights for Bran's life, while fighting for hers as well. Bran's wolf comes into the room and he kills the man. No one knows who the man is but they believe that he was hiding in the stables since no one was rarely there. Through almost the end, Catelyn decides that she will take a trip to see the Lanisters because she believes that the killer man was sent by them since they believe that Bran knows something that he should not now know.
I chose this chapter because within this chapter Catelyn realizes that since Bran's accident she has pretty much neglect the family as much as the little boy Rickon. She feels that she has pretty much failed to her family. Although, she is very devastated due to her son being ill she still has the urge to keep fighting for her family. She realizes that she needs to go and see the Lanisters to see what is happening here. It also shows the correlation between the wolves and their owners and how at the beginning they decided to keep them because it was known to be a "sign." It caught my attention more when Bran's wolf goes into the room and saves him, like he could smell or like he knew exactly what was going on, which shows the strong connection between the two. It is also interesting that they believe that Bran knows something he should not know, which makes me wonder if anyone else knows between the affair with Jamie and his sister.
The discussion topic within this chapter I find it to be bravery and women mistreatment. It shows that Catelyn has some bravery to fight for her family. It also shows that people might judge her because she is a women and she is doing something our of the normal for her family. Usually woman did not have a say within their family but she does, so people might view her differently since she is fighting for her family. She also showed some bravery when fighting for her child's life and not letting the killer trick her when causing the fire to get her to come out of the room to go help. She showed that she is smart and that she does not let the medieval life define her of who she is or who she is suppose to be.
