Jon became a brother of the Night Watch titled with the job of being a steward. He didn't believe that he should be that, he thought he should be a ranger instead. Sam told him how he gets to be the one to know everything as if he was a right hand man, as a shadow of Lord Commander Mormont . Jon changed his mindset and found out that his dad got titled treason. He couldn't believe it and continued to deny the worse. Which later put him in a dilemma; if Jon should go off and help and protect his family and potentially die for leaving his post or stay there and do his duty like an honorable man. He started hearing everyone talk about his father and found out it was Ser Allister that started it. Which led him to attacking him and ending up being locked in his cell for the night. With the circumstances that he was in, Mormont allowed Ghost to be in the cell with him. Later that night Ghost woke Jon up because of what was outside of the cell. Jon found that the cell was unlocked, the guard was dead and he was coming close to having to go head to head with the corpse that they brought back with them. It was a great fight, and he took what the other brothers said to do into consideration and burned the corpse to die fully.
I kind of put Jons' first two chapters of this section together because I felt it would make more sense. From the first part I already had a feeling it'd be a bad idea to move the corpse, let alone bring it back to the castle. Later on Mormont almost died because of it. This shows Jon even more of his importance as a steward is and I feel it'll show the higher in-command how important he is and might raise him to a ranger. He's a young man that goes off of instinct and doesn't second guess which I feel will earn him the utmost respect from everyone...even Ser Allister.
